ABOUT REDEEMING DANCE

OUR PASSION FOR DANCE

We are passionate about redeeming the many facets of dance lost in today’s dance culture. We believe in dance being a medium to build and renew a person’s spirit and soul. Our talents are gifts that can bring healing, build character, lift us, and ultimately glorify God. We are excited to teach the foundations of dance in a unique, fun, and supportive environment, experiencing the love of Jesus. Our passion is to create a culture where the redemptive power of dance can be experienced and shared.

OUR MOTIVATION

Our instructors at Redeeming Dance are highly trained professionals with Motivated by the redemption Jesus first provided us, “buying back” the old for the new is our focus. God calls us each by our “new” name and gives us a redeemed identity that connects our spirit to His. When we become Him, everything changes. The truth wins, and truth only leads to life.

“But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1

Jenifer Thyssen

Admin & Operations

Jenifer Thyssen sings soulfully, gently, powerfully, divinely – music which transports and heals, reconnects us and ties us to our past and our future through the musical expressions of human experience written by composers from the 1100’s to today. Honored in her hometown of Austin as Best Classical Singer (by the Austin Critic’s Table Awards) in 2018, 2003, and nominated for the award in 2007, 2008, and 2012, “Thyssen’s beautiful vocal storytelling” is an Austin staple, appearing in multiple concerts yearly, and even some exciting recent projects like a featured vocalist in one track on EDM artist Moby's upcoming album Future Quiet, and a feature-length movie soundtrack "Went Up the Hill" and a shortfilm soundtrack "Sous Vide" as well.

As a musician, a follower of Jesus, and a mother of (7 in total but only) three children dancing and training at Redeeming Dance, Jenifer brings her artistic and practical life-juggling sensibilities and skills to management and organization in the office and behind the scenes at Redeeming Dance.  She helps to create a space at Redeeming Dance where families are prayed for and with, encouraged and uplifted, and nurtured toward flourishing alongside their children as they strive toward excellence in their dance education. (in case you’re curious - here are some VERY ancient tunes sung by Jenifer - www.jeniferthyssen.com).
